CEBU CITY, May 17 Asia Pulse - The Philippines has a chance of introducing to the rest of the world a new wireless security technology entirely developed and manufactured by Filipinos.
Ruel S. Kapunan, chief executive officer and vice president for business develoment of FindMe Location-based services (LBS), said that they are now looking at the export market for their product.
"We can bring this technology abroad," Kapunan said during a briefing held on TrackMe Vehicle Tracking and Management System and SecureMe.
Kapunan said that the company is getting serious inquiries from abroad regarding the TrackMe system.
"Basically, we are talking to people in the Middle East. We demonstrated the system in Indonesia," he said.
He said they are hoping they can export the product as soon as possible.
However, Kapunan said they are still looking at how they can accomplish exporting of the TrckMe system.
"We are optimistic we can bring this abroad but we don't know in what form," he said.
Although the product's quality is assured as far as technical aspect is concerned, he said they are looking at market acceptability of the product as far as the image of the product as Philippine-made.
"On the technical aspect, we are comparable with Europe and the United States," he said.
But, he said FindMe has yet to ascertain what the market response would be to a technology product that is made in the Philippines.
The company is considering several options so that it could export the product abroad. "We will probably find a partner in the United States which is good in retail," he said.
